The Salt Lake

What a perfect name for this place. Even the name itself is an spectacular contradiction. As unlikely as a lake full of salt water, so too is unlikely a mecca of golfing in a desert or a state capital full of single family one story homes, or a state capital of only 180,600 for that matter (though they say there are a million in the metropolitan area).

The valley is very flat and full of the city, big roads, but not great quality crisscross it and create a craziness of driving and traffic. Although the distance from our work place to our home is only about 4 miles, people recommend we take the highway which crisscrosses the city. It is rather spectacular looking out at the majestic mountains hemming you in on all sides and the weather has been superb.

So in an announcement of contradictions, I would like to announce today starting 5 days of blogging. I know I have probably alienated most of my devoted readership for my lack of interest in writing, but it hasn't been a true lack of interest. I wouldn't stand for anyone else's excuses of time though, so I will just say that for the next four days, I will post a collection of my notes from the last four months.
