World Traveller
I've been to 3 capitals of countries in the last 3 days, but now I am home in Florida, and will be here until December 27. At that point, I will be headed back to work some more in Ukraine. If anyone is looking for a good cause for the holidays, I can provide some ideas in ways (or donations) that would help the orphanage. It is located in a village of 500 named Bortniki (and is visible on Google Earth). I've worked with them before. There are 20 boys there now. The boys come from broken homes. They are never adopted, and so we try to train them for success in life when they turn 18. I think it is pretty effective. I live and eat there with the boys. As always, everyone is welcome. They love company and help. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving and plenty of things to be thankful for.Only in Ukraine,... the boys have trouble talking to me in Ukrainian because they are so accustomed to the fact that foreigners only speak Russian. They don't even realize they do it.
Only in Poland,... while in the Warsaw airport, in between flight announcement, the announcer came on the PA to say, "We would like to cordially invite all travellers to attend Holy Mass. The chapel is located in terminal A. The service lasts half an hour."
Only in Italy,... The ever fashionable Italians put their cops on Segway people movers at the Rome train station. Gives new meaning to fashion police.
Only in the USA,... do you arrive at the country's capital's airport to be greeted by pandemonium at the immigration room; where the line for Americans is MUCH longer. Welcome home.

hey stranger....
so i've lost your email address and all the hustle and bustle, and then remembered i had your blog in my favorites. I'm glad you are still travelling the world and taking it all in. I've decided to stay Stateside for a bit, I've realized there is a lot of this country that I haven't seen or really understand. However I am jealous that you are heading back to Ukraine, I miss my host family.
